Living by your own rules conjures the image of Jack Sparrow, a person with a cavalier attitude, living for the moment, making plans as he goes along.
But surely not all who live by their own rules are social deviants?
What if the rules you choose to live by is similar to societys norm? Then, to any observer, you are merely complacent to societys standard. However, I believe there is a huge difference between those who are complacent in following and those who willingly choose to follow, even if both look the same.

Happiness is not getting what you want, it's appreciating what you have...
Nice line work... willing to share? I'd offer to colour your images if you're willing to let me have them. I'll credit you, naturally.

Let us roll all our strength and all
Our sweetness up into one Ball:
And tear our pleasures with rough strife,
Through the Iron gates of Life:
Thus, though we cannot make our Sun
Stand still, yet we shall make him run.
